* This project has now ended. Our Living with Hearing Loss Workshop will return in November/ December 2021. Watch this space for details!

FREE ZOOM WORKSHOPS on 16 & 17 March 2021!

Thanks to The Care Forum’s Bristol Join-Up fund and Disability Action’s DPO Covid-19 emergency fund we are able to start a new project to try and tackle the issues Hard of Hearing people have because of this pandemic.

We are delivering a series of 2-hour virtual workshops over two days, on the following subjects:

• What is a hearing loss?

• Hearing Aids and Hearing Loss Equipment

• Communication Techniques (lip-reading, etc)

• How hearing loss affects your emotional wellbeing

People who do not have access to the internet or digital hardware can apply to borrow a tablet. We will deliver the tablet and pick it up after the workshops. Tablets will be delivered following the latest Government guidelines. We will also have technical support via the phone should anyone be struggling to connect or use the devices.

Presenters will include staff from CfD, a local teacher of lipreading, an audiologist/hearing therapist, and HoH people willing to share their Covid-experiences.

If you or anyone that you know of who has been feeling isolated during the lockdown, and would like to book onto this course, please get in touch by emailing us at office@cfd.org.uk or call 0117 9398653.

…I was very satisfied with the service. The two staff were professional and easy to communicate with. They were able to explain everything clearly and quickly gave me the replacement equipment.

Two exceptionally pleasant and helpful people – a pleasure to meet and my new doorbell is a great help. Thank you very much.
