Hello! Do you live in Bristol and find hearing things at home difficult? Maybe you sometimes miss the doorbell, phone, or alarm? We understand — and we're here to help. Our Equipment Service can make life safer, easier, and more connected.
What equipment do we offer?
Flashing doorbells and entry alerts – so you know when someone's at the door
Amplified phones and personal listeners – to help with phone calls
TV listening aids – so you can enjoy watching TV clearly
Vibrating alarm clocks and baby monitors – for peace of mind
Silent alert pagers – for important alerts
How does the service work?
Free Home Visit
Our trained Equipment Officers visit your home. They'll chat with you, understand your needs, and recommend the best equipment for your home.
Free Loan & Installation
We install the equipment for you. You can use it for free, for as long as you need.
Ongoing Support
If there's a problem later, we help with repairs, advice, or replacements.
Do you need to pay?
If you live in Bristol, most equipment is completely free — funded by Bristol City Council.
If you live outside Bristol, don't worry — you can buy equipment from us, or we can signpost you to your local service.
Fire safety help too!
We can refer you to Avon Fire Service — they offer free home visits, give safety advice, and install the right fire equipment to keep you safe.

Equipment Resource Room
We have a resource room where we provide information, demonstrations and advice on equipment for Deaf and hard of hearing people.
If you would like to make an appointment to visit our resource room, please contact us and we will arrange for one of our Equipment Officers to meet you and show you the range of equipment that we have.
