The Centre for the Deaf (CfD) is a registered small-sized charity working to encourage integration and equality between Deaf and hearing people in all areas of life. We currently provide an equipment service and we are also redeveloping the charity to secure a brighter future.

We are now seeking an Office Manager and a Fundraising and Business Development Officer to work with us at our office at the Vassall Centre in Fishponds. Please see details of both roles below.

Office Manager

Hours: 16 hours a week to be worked over 3-4 days.

Salary: £16,000 – £18,000 pro rata a year.
This is a permanent post subject to funding.

Benefits: 1% pension contribution from employer. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata.

Applicants must have a minimum/be working towards NVQ Level 2/3 in business administration or equivalent, or significant previous experience in administration with a good command of the English language and exceptional administrative skills. Level 2 British Sign Language or working towards would be an advantage but this is not essential as training will be provided. Previous experience in an office environment is essential, ideally in the third sector.

Fundraising and Business Development Officer

Hours: 18 hours a week to be worked over 3-4 days.

Salary: £20,000 – £23,000 pro rata a year.
This is a permanent post subject to funding.

Benefits: 1% pension contribution from employer. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata.

Applicants must have at least three years’ experience in income generation within the not-for-profit sector with significant experience and track record of fundraising. Experience of producing high quality reports to funders as well as expertise in identifying and researching trust and statutory prospects is essential. Level 2 British Sign Language or working towards would be an advantage but this is not essential as training will be provided.
